Fine Arts at a Glance:
At Grace, our Fine Arts programs are built around the school mission statement. Our objective through our Fine Arts is to assist parents in equipping young people to influence the world for Christ.
The directors of our Fine Arts programs have committed themselves to leading their programs through a Christian example. In every case, it is their desire for their groups to glorify God. Yes, we have competitions, and yes, we like to do well in our competitions, but only if it can bring glory to God.
Our directors also provide instruction and mentoring for the young people in their group, working toward excellence and instilling a desire in the students to do their best. Participating in Fine Arts at Grace Community School prepares the students to interact with their world in a visible way to influence the world for Christ.
Our prayer is that God would use our Fine Arts program to create instruments that can be used for His honor and His glory. Just like a fine violin, the instruments will make the most beautiful music when played by the Master.
Grace Community School has much to offer in the area of fine arts. There are several programs in which to participate.
Our band program ranges from sixth grade through twelth, beginning through advanced. The Grace Cougar Concert Band is our main ensemble, but we have an award winning jazz band as well.
The Grace Community School Orchestra program also ranges from grades 6-12, beginning to advanced. The orchestra not only performs as a large ensemble but also produces select small ensembles as well. This program has also won many district and state awards.
The choir program also ranges in participants from sixth grade through twelth. Many small ensembles are selected from within this group as well. The choir program is also an award-winning program at Grace Community School.
All of the programs in the Grace Community School fine arts program compete and perform throughout the school year.
Our drama department is another program at Grace in the area of fine arts. With several productions performed by our eighth grade and high school drama students, the Grace family is entertained regularly.
From musicals to Christmas concerts to spring plays, there is always an opportunity for students who are interested in fine arts to find their niche at Grace Community School.
