Cougars Enter Final Week Before District

In the final week of preparation before entering the district season, our Cougars varsity basketball team played some of their best basketball of the season and went 4-1 on the weekend at the Frankston Tournament to take the runner-up trophy. The Cougars got wins over New Summerfield (90-24), East Chambers (68-55), Woden (56-43), and Eustace (84-47). All of our players contributed to our success on the weekend. We had multiple games where all our players scored in the games. Our starters, Brinton Loftis, Peyton Kelly, Daniel Shankle, Wilson Smith, and Caden Swaim all had standout performances during the tournament. We also received valuable contributions from Jack Crawford. Andrew Dancy, Dustin Dossey, Hank Gilmore, Doak Porter, Ethan Roach, and McCade Stinson.

All our teams will host in White Oak on Tuesday, in our final non-district games. The JV White will play at 5:00, JV Blue at 6:15, and Varsity at 7:30. We will host our first district games on Friday versus Brighter Horizons. The JV Blue will tip-off at 4:30 followed by the Varsity Girls at 6:00 and the Varsity Boys at 7:30. We hope that all our Cougar fans will pack the gyms for these games to provide our teams a huge home-court advantage.
