2026 Homecoming Information

The Parent Teacher Fellowship is thrilled to announce Homecoming 2026: HOCO in Rio! This special event will be filled with fun and fellowship for former students, alumni parents, and school families with children of all ages.  Please plan to join us on Friday, October 2nd, for an evening of fun, fellowship, and, of course, great football!

Events:

9:00 am: Pep Rally at the HS Football Field

3:00 pm–5:00 pm: Tailgate Set-Up

5:00 pm: Parking Lot Closes to Vehicle Traffic 

and Tailgating Begins

5:00 pm–6:45 pm: BBQ meal available

6:30 pm: Students Line Up for the Parade

6:35 pm – 6:40 pm – Homecoming Parade

7:00 pm – Game Kickoff

What to expect: 

The tailgate lot (behind GCS High School) will open for set up at 3:00 pm. The parking lot will close at 5:00 pm to all car traffic for families to mingle from tailgate to tailgate. All families are encouraged to take part in grade-level and campus-sponsored tailgates. Whether you are new to Early Education, have a Senior in High School, a former student, or an Alumni parent, there will be a place to fellowship and connect with other school families!

Our homecoming tailgate includes a BBQ food truck and games for younger kids.

Tailgate Info (All Grade Levels): 

All grade levels will have designated areas for their grades (similar to past years). We encourage families who would like to participate in their grade level tailgating to bring tents, chairs, and decorations (tables will be provided). Some grade levels may also plan food sign-up opportunities (visit your class Facebook page, class GroupMe, or check emails to see if your class is participating in bringing items or food). However, we will have food available for purchase if your class is not bringing food.

GCS Alumni Families:

We are excited to have a GCS Alumni tailgate for all former students and alumni parents this year! Don’t miss this opportunity to see old friends, teachers, and coaches at Homecoming 2026! Please click here to RSVP BY SEPTEMBER 25TH so we can ensure an accurate food count for everyone. 

Parking:

There will be one parking spot reserved for the parents of each senior student being recognized for Senior Night. This includes Football, Trainers, Cross Country, Cheer, and Drumline. All other attendees and students will need to park in other designated areas (front of high school, behind administration next to 5/6, grassy area behind maintenance building, visitors section, etc.).
