What to expect:

The tailgate lot (behind GCS High School) will open for set up at 2:30 pm. Bring your smokers, tents, tables, and decorations. We encourage you to secure several spots for your child’s grade, so everyone has a place to fellowship and connect with other school families.

Our Homecoming tailgate includes food trucks, face painting, a “trunk or treat” for students, a

parade, cornhole competition, prizes for the best tailgate, photo booth, and our “GSPN” Game Day announcers and trailer.

Purchasing Tailgate Spots:

Tailgate spots are available for purchase here.

If you want to donate your tailgate spot, don’t hesitate to contact Sarah Burkett, PTF President at ptf@gracetyler.org. Tailgate spot donations are greatly appreciated! Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) will use proceeds from this sale to support our school staff and campus needs throughout the year.

Tailgate Sign-ups:

This is a Grace Community School all-school event! Talk with your friends and plan to bring food or stop by the food trucks or concession stand. Tailgating spots are divided by grade, and we encourage families to bring folding chairs to relax and socialize.

Cornhole Competition:

This event you want to attend! We have 32 team spots (two people per team), and we anticipate these going quickly! The cost is $20 per team. The winning team members will be awarded custom Grace Cougar Cornhole sets.

Registration deadline is October 21st. Click here to register.

Trunk or Treat:

Students are encouraged to dress in LUAU THEME or GCS SPIRIT GEAR (no Halloween costumes, please). We will “trunk or treat” at the tailgates from 5:30 to 6:00 pm. Make sure to bring a bag or bucket!

Parade:

Our parade, led by the GCS Drumline and Cougarettes, is open to all Jr. K – 4th grade students! Jr. K – 2nd graders have the opportunity to ride on a “float” (wagon pulled by parents, see below for info) and our 3rd & 4th graders get to walk with Champ and be part of Champ’s Crew in the parade.

Registration deadline is October 24th. Click here to register.

Parade Wagons:

Families of Jr. K – 2nd grades are encouraged to bring decorated wagons for their little ones to ride in (pulled by their moms and dads in the parade). While a wagon is not required, it is highly encouraged. Students without a wagon are welcome to join our 3rd and 4th graders walking in Champ’s Crew (behind Champ). Parents will collect their children at the track entrance following the homecoming parade.

Event Attire:

The dress code for the Trunk or Treat is GCS Spirit Gear or Luau theme.
