As a parent, you know that a positive elementary school experience will help set your child on the right path for their entire academic journey. So much development happens during these formative years, and nothing matters more to you than finding the best learning environment.
We invite you to learn more about our program and the opportunities your child will have as an elementary student at Grace.
At Grace Community School, we model teaching and learning after Luke 2:52: “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”
Scripture provides a blueprint for training children with an eternal perspective while fostering their physical, spiritual, and social-emotional growth. At GCS, we call this, “Teaching Jesus” — our commitment to developing the whole student according to his or her God-given gifts. As students master fundamentals in core subjects like math and language arts, they simultaneously renew their minds through studying the Bible, worshiping together in Chapel, and being mentored by Christian teachers.
A peaceful environment where students are known and loved provides the security elementary-age children need to thrive. Our teachers understand that children in grades 1-4 need ample opportunities for active exploration and play. Engaging in collaborative work with classmates, students build critical thinking and social skills.

Amber McClenny
Elementary Assistant Principal
B.A., University of Texas, Tyler
Amber has been at Grace Community School since 2007 and currently serves as the elementary assistant principal. Before becoming the assistant principal, she was a third grade teacher, as well as an eighth grade English teacher. She has also taught as a high school English teacher at a public school in the East Texas area. Amber received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. She and her husband, Todd, have one daughter at Grace and another daughter who graduated from GCS (Class of ’14) and is attending Abilene Christian University.
We have loved Grace from the beginning, but our appreciation for our Grace family, a Christian education, and a strong academic foundation has grown deeper with each year. Recently our son and daughter both accepted Christ and made the decision to be baptized; we credit some of their decision to the amazing influences God has placed in their lives at school.

We prioritize your child’s safety and are committed to keeping our campus secure. Doors remain locked, surveillance cameras monitor our facilities, and each campus has multiple protection officers. Faculty, staff, and volunteers are background checked, and regular safety drills ensure we are ready to respond to any threat. But there’s more to safety than just being prepared for emergencies. Our core values foster a healthy culture wherein students feel safe, allowing them to experience deeper learning. Teachers communicate with parents regularly to share observations, supporting each child’s growth and nurturing their needs.
