Community & Service

Helping local churches to equip young saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ. (Eph. 4:12)

A Community of Believers Serving the Community at Large

Psalm 1 likens the one who delights in the law of the Lord to a tree planted by streams of water. In delightfully meditating on His law day and night, the roots of understanding of the nature and work of the Lawgiver grow deeper. The deeper he understands the Eternal God, the higher he reaches in both worship and strength of character. The deeper the roots, the higher the trunk, the further out the branches reach, inevitably yielding fruit in its season.

Height and Depth

As a private Christian school, GCS strives to support and assist the local body of Christ in equipping young saints to grow deep roots in their understanding of Who Jesus Is and what He has done. We believe and have experienced, that when a student knows more about God, it leads them to grow in their love and worship of God. We strive to deepen a student’s understanding of God and so lift higher their worship of God through our Bible classes and chapel services. We encourage you to experience chapel at GCS through our podcasts.Branching out Locally

Branching Out Locally

Human beings have been created to reflect what we worship. Therefore, we also strive to give students an opportunity to stretch their branches far to reflect the Savior Who came to serve and not to be served. (Mark 10:45) We encourage our students to stretch themselves in the local community by requiring 120 hours of local community service from every graduation candidate. Students earn their credits over their four years of high school through volunteering in the annual Salvation Army Bell Ringing, volunteering on Community Service Day, serving at Habitat for Humanity, engaging in PATH Mentoring, helping at Living Alternatives, the East Texas Crisis Center, and many other opportunities. ac consectetur.

Stretching Out Globally

At GCS, we believe that displaying Christ compels believers to have a heart for the nations. The marching orders we have from Jesus was to “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” (Mark 16:15) We also encourage our students to stretch themselves nationally and globally through volunteering with Operation Christmas Child, where Grace is the regional distribution center for East Texas every year, YWAM, Mercy Ships, Invisible Children, a foreign mission trip, and other volunteer opportunities at national/world organizations. Students are required to earn 40 points for 40 hours of service related to service nationally or globally through these opportunities.

Praying Parents of Grace

Praying Parents Of Grace (PPOG) is a group designed to do exactly what the name would imply – pray specifically and intentionally for requests submitted by our school community.

We would love for you to become a PPOG, and join us in washing our school and school families daily in prayer. As a PPOG, you will have access to our weekly Prayer Requests and be able to submit requests of your own.
