7th Boys Basketball Defeat Lindale
The 7th-grade boys played a great game Monday defeating Lindale. A big 3rd quarter stretched the lead from 6 to 13 on the way to a 35-26 final. Paxton Bryant led the Cougars with 13 points including two key 3-pointers. Easton Griffen scored 9 including 5 for 5 on free throws. Tanner Williams and Thatcher Parish controlled the boards for the Cougars. The 8th-grade boys fell short against a big Lindale team 36-46. After falling behind by 9 in the 1st quarter the Cougars made adjustments and got to within 4 in the 4th quarter. Coleman Swaim led the team with 13 including going 4 for 4 from the charity stripe. Caleb Burgess scored 11 including three 3-pointers. On Thursday the Cougars defeated the East Texas Chargers 52-30. Coleman Swaim scored 9 of his game-high 16 in the 1st quarter. Bradon Alexander had 13 points while Brayden Knox scored 9. Noah Bigbee was big on both ends of the court pulling down rebounds and helping control the boards. It was an overall great team effort. Both Cougar teams will be back in action on Monday taking on Bishop Gorman at home. The games will be played in the MS gym. The 7th grade will tip off at 5:00 followed by the 8th grade at 6:00.
