Lady Cougars Build Momentum in Early-Season Matches

August 18, 2025 – Grace volleyball had a good start to the 2025 season as they recently faced off against Garrison, Overton, and LEAD Academy in scrimmages. Both the JV and the Varsity teams were able to walk away with W’s against all three teams they faced. Building off their scrimmage success, the Cougars started last week strong with games against Pine Tree and Tyler Heat. The JV squad was able to take a set, but ended up losing in the third. The Varsity team faced off against a great opponent and lost in three sets. During that match, Parker Estes led the team in digs. On Friday night, Grace Volleyball faced off against Tyler Heat in their first home match. The JV team was down a starter, but was still able to take a set in their 1-2 loss. Varsity had an exciting night as they faced off against another strong team. Jaci Whitson had an outstanding game, leading the team with 10 kills while seniors Brooklyn Gautier and Parker Estes stepped up and led in aces and digs (respectively). Varsity was able to take Tyler Heat to four close sets, where they eventually lost 1-3. Fueled by a strong start and growing momentum, the Cougar Volleyball teams are eager to take the court and make a statement in this week’s matchups.
