Grace JH Football Teams Show Determination in Games vs. Pittsburg
September 15, 2025 – The Grace Community School seventh-grade football team took the field Thursday evening in a scrimmage against Pittsburg at Clyde-Perkins Stadium. The Cougars executed 15 plays on both offense and defense, showing marked improvement and impressive toughness throughout the contest.
Receivers Josiah Goodman, Brycen Halderman, and Cayleb Keel each recorded catches from quarterbacks Levi Stinson and Anthony Lisenby. On the defensive side, Grayson Gautier led the team in tackles, anchoring a unit that showed growth and resilience during the scrimmage.
In the following game, the eighth-grade Cougars opened their season against Pittsburg, also at Clyde-Perkins Stadium. Despite being outmatched in both size and numbers—fielding just 20 players—the Cougars demonstrated heart and determination throughout the contest, ultimately falling to the Pirates.
Several players delivered standout performances. Elias McQuay recorded six tackles, including one for a loss, and made a 54-yard reception. Sam Moore completed two of five passes for 62 yards and added four tackles on defense. Miller Cooper led the team with 12 tackles, three of which were for losses. Grayson Matthews contributed two tackles for loss, while JohnOwen Guyer made two receptions for 12 yards and tallied eight tackles.
The Cougars will return to action this Thursday at Clyde-Perkins Stadium, where they will face New Boston. The seventh-grade game is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by the eighth-grade matchup at 5:30 p.m.
