Cougar Tennis Faces Tough Competition in Team Match Against Tyler High

September 29, 2025 – On Tuesday, September 23, the Grace Cougar tennis team joined forces with the All-Saints team to compete in a combined team match against Tyler High School.

In doubles action, Frederick Werner partnered with Marshall Price from All-Saints, securing a solid 6–2, 6–4 victory. Werner also competed in singles against Tyler High’s top player, where he faced a challenging match and fell 8–4.

The doubles team of Aiden Morales and Easton Griffin faced a tough Tyler pair and lost 6–2, 6–2. In singles play, Morales was narrowly defeated 8–3, while Griffin competed in mixed doubles and played a competitive match, ultimately losing 8–5. Eli Murphy also took part in singles, encountering a difficult match that ended 8–1.

On the girls’ side, Tessa Stockhammer and Evangeline Bock both participated in singles matches, falling 8–3 in their respective contests. The pair joined forces in doubles but were defeated by a strong Tyler team, 6–0, 6–2.

The Cougar tennis team is competing today in the All-Saints Private School Tournament and then will look ahead to their district match against longtime rival Brook Hill taking place this Thursday, October 2. The team remains focused on growth and improvement as they continue their season against strong competition.
