Grace XC Storms Lindale with PRs, Podium Finishes, and Dominant Team Efforts

October 6, 2025 – This past weekend, the Grace Cross Country teams made a statement at the Lindale Invitational, competing in the Boys Elite Division as well as the Boys and Girls Varsity races, and came away with multiple PRs, individual titles, and two team runner-up finishes!
Boys Elite Division
In a highly competitive elite field, Roe Gaddis led the charge, running a new personal best of 16:40 to take 1st place overall. Chris Alexander followed closely behind, and Clayton Bock continued his breakout season, clocking a PR of 17:34 to finish as the team’s #3 runner. Wyatt Grimes and Ayden Serrato both dipped under the 20-minute mark once again, showing consistency and strength as we head into the championship phase of the season. Result: Boys Elite Team placed 2nd out of 40 teams!
Boys Varsity Division
The varsity boys rose to the challenge with several season highlights.
- Clive Johnson broke the 20-minute barrier for the first time this season, finishing in 19:50.
- Freshman Asher Wickliffe ran a strong 20:30 PR, with Truett Roseman just behind in 21:06, also a PR.
- Dylan Small clocked 21:22, and Aaron Sepulveda rounded out the scoring five with a solid 24:14 effort.
Girls Varsity Division
The Lady Cougars continued their season-long momentum, led by Emma Goetz, who won the Girls Varsity race in 11:25, narrowly missing the meet record after the course was slightly extended.
- Casey Goetz followed with a 6th place finish in 12:44, while Addison Mathews finished 13th overall in 13:23.
- MJ Hanson came through in 14:10, and Aragon Tanner clocked her fastest time of the year with a 14:33.
- Rebecca Dai wasn’t far behind, finishing in 14:41, and Cora Castle closed out the team with a 14:52 performance.
Result: Girls Varsity Team also brought home 2nd place overall, earning a team plaque alongside the boys.
Next Up: Final Tune-Up Before State
The Cougars return to action on October 11th at the Brook Hill Invitational, with races starting at 8:00 AM and a rolling schedule to follow. Come out and support the team as they take on their final race before the TAPPS State Championships on October 27th!
