Junior High Cougars Deliver Strong Performances in Recent Matchups

October 27, 2025 – The Grace Community junior high football program turned in two inspiring performances recently, with both the 7th and 8th grade Cougars showcasing determination, teamwork, and steady growth as the season rolls on.

7th Grade Recap: Cougars Blank Brownsboro 20–0

The 7th grade Cougars put together their most complete performance of the year, shutting out Brownsboro 20–0 in an impressive all-around team victory.

Grayson Gautier led the charge on offense, breaking loose for two long touchdown runs that energized the crowd and set the tone early. Preston Muns added another score on a powerful run, while Ben Castle powered through for a tough two-point conversion.

The Cougars also found success through the air, completing key passes to sustain drives and keep the Brownsboro defense off balance.

Defensively, the Cougars were dominant from start to finish. It was their best tackling performance of the season, with every player flying to the football to preserve the shutout.

With the win, the 7th grade Cougars demonstrated toughness, discipline, and the ability to execute on both sides of the ball – a true team victory.

8th Grade Recap: Cougars Battle Hard in 24–21 Thriller Against All Saints

The 8th grade Cougars showed tremendous progress in a hard-fought 24–21 loss to All Saints. Though the result didn’t fall their way, the performance highlighted just how much this group has developed over the past month.

Offensively, the Cougars were explosive. Skylar McGee turned in a huge night, surpassing 100 yards receiving and scoring two touchdowns – one on a deep strike from Sam Moore and another from Miller Cooper. Moore also connected with Josh Anderson for a long touchdown pass, displaying great accuracy and poise under pressure.

Isaac Jenks was perfect on the night, going 3-for-3 on extra point attempts, keeping Grace within striking distance throughout.

Defensively, Josh Anderson led the charge with a strong performance, racking up tackles and setting the tone with his physical play. The Cougar defense continued to improve in pursuit and communication, showing steady progress as a unit.

Though the narrow loss stung, the 8th grade Cougars left the field proud – demonstrating growth, resilience, and a competitive edge that will serve them well in the weeks ahead.

Congratulations to both junior high teams for their effort, improvement, and teamwork on display last week. The future looks bright for Cougar football!
