Grace Football Battles Grace Prep in Homecoming Showdown

November 3, 2025 – The Grace Community Football team delivered a strong performance last Friday night in its Homecoming matchup against Grace Prep. The game was an offensive showcase, with both teams trading scores throughout the night. Ultimately, the Cougars fell short as the Lions pulled away late to secure a 55–34 victory.

Senior wide receiver Doak Porter led the Grace offense with eight receptions for 180 yards and two touchdowns. Senior quarterback Cole Stanley was steady under center, completing 17 of 31 passes for 289 yards and three touchdowns. Senior Justus McQuay added 56 yards on three catches, while senior Elijah Hicks contributed 50 yards on five receptions. Sophomore Bradon Alexander paced the rushing attack with 67 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries, and sophomore Coleman Swaim added a reception for the Cougars.

Defensively, several players stepped into expanded roles due to injuries. Junior Aaron Vidrine led the team with 13 tackles and a forced fumble. Freshman Parker Stoermer followed closely with 12 tackles, while junior Christian Henry recorded eight tackles, one pass breakup, and a key interception that he returned to the one-yard line.

The Cougars will look to secure a playoff berth with a win in their final regular season game this Friday night at home. The team will also celebrate Senior Night before kickoff, honoring the contributions and leadership of its senior athletes. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m., and fans are encouraged to come out and support the Cougars as they finish the season strong.
