Grace Football Secures Playoff Spot with Victory over Bishop Dunne

November 10, 2025 – The Grace Community School football team returned to winning form on Friday night with a decisive victory over Bishop Dunne. The game held particular significance for the team’s seniors and their families, who were recognized for their contributions to the football program and delivered impressive performances on the field. Grace dominated in every phase of the game throughout all four quarters, securing a playoff berth with a 44–6 win over the Falcons.
Senior quarterback Cole Stanley led the Grace offense, completing 13 of 15 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 70 yards on six carries. Seniors Elijah Hicks and Justus McQuay led the receiving corps, with Hicks recording three receptions for 44 yards and McQuay adding four catches for 39 yards and a touchdown. Senior Brayden Wells scored the first touchdown of his career on a short rush inside the five-yard line, and senior Ayle Hecht added a rushing touchdown later in the game. Additional offensive contributors included Bradon Alexander, Sam Bentley, Coleman Swaim, Dylan Stinson, Christian Henry, Bowen Jenkins, and Hunter Lopez, who completed his first pass as a varsity quarterback.
On defense, seniors Cole Stanley and Ayle Hecht played key roles in leading the Cougars to victory. Junior Christian Henry recorded five tackles, a pass breakup, and an interception, while junior Aaron Vidrine tallied seven tackles, a forced fumble, and five quarterback pressures. Junior Dylan Stinson contributed five tackles and concluded the defensive effort with a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown.
Grace Community School will travel for its first-round playoff matchup against The Woodlands Christian Academy. The game is scheduled for Friday night at Warrior Stadium in The Woodlands, with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m.
