Lady Cougars Earn Silver Bracket Title at Arp Tournament

November 17, 2025 – The Lady Cougars opened their season with an impressive showing at the Arp Tournament, winning three of four games and securing the silver bracket championship.

The tournament began on Thursday with a hard-fought matchup against Frankston, where the Cougars fell 68–44 despite strong individual performances. Eva King led the team with 16 points, while Macy Loftis added 11. The team quickly regrouped that afternoon, defeating Big Sandy 58–24 in a balanced offensive effort. Paige Gilmore, Loftis, and Lilly Kennedy each contributed 12 points, followed by 10 from King and 8 from Jaci Whitson.

On Friday, the Cougars continued their momentum with a dominant 68–29 victory over Cumberland. Gilmore led the scoring with 18 points, followed closely by King with 17 and Loftis with 16. Whitson added 7, while Kennedy anchored the defensive end with 4 blocks and 6 rebounds.

Grace closed the weekend with a commanding 63–30 win over Elysian Fields. Gilmore and Loftis posted career highs with 28 and 19 points, respectively, and King once again reached double figures with 12.

The Lady Cougars now turn their attention to the Macy Chenevert Tournament at Gorman later this week, where they look to build on their strong season start.
