January 5, 2026 – The Grace Community School varsity girls soccer team wrapped up pre-break play with a hard-fought road draw against the Homeschool Athletic Association of Dallas.

Both teams displayed strong skill and intensity throughout the match, which ended in a 2–2 tie. Homeschool struck first with a header off a corner kick to take an early lead, but the Lady Cougars responded well, settling into the game and creating quality scoring chances.

Grace found the equalizer when Cesa Sabillon scored off an assist from Harper Miller, knotting the match at 1–1. The score remained unchanged through halftime and into the second half as both teams battled for control.

Homeschool regained the lead midway through the second half, but the Lady Cougars answered almost immediately. Addison Eli scored the tying goal shortly after the kickoff, with Sabillon earning the assist. Despite continued pressure and opportunities from both sides, neither team was able to find the game-winner, and the match ended in a draw.

While the result was not ideal, Grace delivered a strong overall performance, playing aggressively and staying focused and positive across the field from start to finish.

The Lady Cougars will begin district play this week as they host Cristo Rey on Friday at Clyde-Perkins Stadium. Kickoff for the girls match is set for 5 p.m., with the boys game to follow at 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Cougars.
