Men’s Basketball Splits Week, Tops Brighter Horizons, Falls to Rival Brook Hill

January 19, 2025 – The Grace Community varsity boys basketball team split a pair of games last week, improving their overall record to 20-7 and 3-1 in District.

Last Tuesday, the Cougars hosted Brighter Horizons Academy of Garland and came away with a decisive 68-40 victory. Grace controlled the game from start to finish, combining strong offense with solid defensive pressure to dominate on both ends of the court.

On Friday, the Cougars traveled to Bullard for a heated matchup against rival, Brook Hill. The Guard pulled away in the second half, handing Grace a 59-39 loss despite the Cougars’ strong effort. The rivalry game showcased both teams’ intensity, with turnovers and hot shooting from Brook Hill proving decisive.

Grace will return to action this week with a non-district home game against Tyler Heat on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m., followed by a district road matchup at Hyde Park in Austin on Friday.
