Varsity Men’s Basketball Builds Momentum With Overtime Win, Sit Second in District

January 26, 2025 – The Grace varsity boys basketball team continued its strong district play last week, picking up two significant wins and positioning itself for a strong postseason run.

On Tuesday, the Cougars edged Tyler Heat 61–60 in an overtime thriller, securing their second victory over Tyler Heat this season. Grace battled through a tightly contested game before pulling away in the extra period to seal the one-point win.

Earlier in the week, the Cougars delivered a commanding performance against Hyde Park, rolling to an 81–56 victory. The win solidified Grace’s place near the top of the district standings, as the Cougars currently sit in second place.

With just two district games remaining, Grace enters a crucial stretch of the season. Both upcoming contests carry major playoff seeding implications, making home-court energy and fan support more important than ever.

The Cougars will look to continue their momentum as they close out district play, with postseason positioning on the line.
