Gilmore Shines on Senior Night as Lady Cougars Defeat Regents

February 2, 2026 – The Grace Community varsity girls basketball team celebrated Senior Night in memorable fashion Friday, defeating Regents 55–35 while honoring the program’s lone senior, Paige Gilmore.

Gilmore set the tone immediately, scoring just eight seconds into the game, and never slowed down. She delivered a standout all-around performance, finishing with 30 points, 10 rebounds, seven steals and five blocks to lead the Lady Cougars.

Grace jumped out to a 15–6 lead by the end of the first quarter, controlling the tempo early. Regents made a push in the third quarter, trimming the deficit to four points, but the fourth quarter belonged entirely to the Cougars. Grace poured in 26 points in the final frame to pull away and secure the win.

Macy Loftis and Rylee Phillips each added nine points, while Jaci Whitson contributed four points and six rebounds. Eva King chipped in three points as Grace’s balanced effort complemented Gilmore’s dominant night.

The Lady Cougars now turn their attention to the district tournament, which will determine playoff seeding. Grace will host Cristo Rey on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. before traveling to Waco for tournament play Thursday and Friday.
