Junior High Boys Soccer Battled Brook Hill to Home Draw

February 2, 2026 – The Grace junior high boys soccer team overcame an abbreviated practice week to deliver a strong performance Thursday night, earning a 1–1 draw against Brook Hill in front of family and friends.
Despite limited preparation due to winter weather, the Cougars played with energy and confidence, particularly in the second half. Brook Hill struck first, but Grace responded by maintaining pressure and continuing to attack.
The equalizer came when Isaac Jenks converted a penalty kick after Evan Serrato was fouled in the box. The Cougars created several additional scoring chances down the stretch, but the match ended tied.
The performance reflected the unity and growth of the team throughout the season, as the Cougars pushed one another to compete at a high level and held each other accountable on and off the field.
Serrato was named Game MVP for his effort, while Jackson Bonneville and Bryson Morrison earned Unsung Hero honors. The Coaches Award for defense went to Oliver Gibson, Kyle Brabon, Ben Castle and Jace France for their strong play on the back line.
As the season comes to a close, the program recognized its eighth graders as they prepare to move on to high school, while the returning seventh graders look ahead to continued development next season. The team also expressed appreciation to parents and families for their consistent support throughout the year.
