Lady Cougars Tune Up for Area Playoff Clash with Strong Effort at Buffalo

February 16, 2026 – The Lady Cougars will face Grace Prep in Arlington on Tuesday in the Area round of the playoffs. Prior to that contest, Grace traveled to Buffalo last week for a warm-up game against a highly ranked opponent.
Grace opened the game with confidence, jumping out to a 20-14 lead after the first quarter. Macy Loftis and Eva King each knocked down two 3-pointers in the opening frame to spark the early surge.
Buffalo responded in the second quarter, holding Grace scoreless for stretches and building a 10-point advantage by halftime. The teams played evenly in the third quarter, with Buffalo maintaining the double-digit lead. Grace made a late push in the fourth, cutting the margin to five points, but ultimately fell 44-35.
Loftis led the Lady Cougars with 16 points. King added 10 points, while Paige Gilmore posted a balanced stat line of nine points, seven rebounds, six assists, four steals and three blocks.
Grace enters the Area Playoff with a 21-12 overall record and looks to carry its postseason momentum into Tuesday’s matchup.
