Grace Junior High Swim Makes Powerful Return, Girls Take First Overall

March 2, 2026 – Tyler Grace Community Junior High Swim made an impressive return to competition last week. The Cougars rose to the occasion on February 26 at East Texas Aquatics as they competed against Kings Academy, Brook Hill, Moore Middle School, Hubbard Middle School, Three Lakes Middle School, Birdwell Middle School, and Caldwell Middle School.
Grace finished second overall combined, with the girls capturing first place and the boys finishing fifth. The meet showcased the team’s depth, determination, and continued growth this season.
Hannah Jenks led the way with two first-place finishes in the 100 IM and 50 breaststroke. Elizabeth Russell claimed first in the 100 freestyle and added valuable points in the backstroke. Lydia Martinez continued her strong season with second-place finishes in the 50 butterfly and 200 freestyle. Audrey Stephenson made a major impact, earning a first-place finish in the 50 backstroke and placing third in the 100 IM.
On the boys side, Christopher Allgaier paced the team with a second-place finish in the 100 IM and fifth in the 200 freestyle. Ben Castle added key points with a second-place finish in the 50 butterfly and third in the 100 freestyle.
The team also celebrated several swimmers competing in their first-ever meet, including Daniel Lomax, Ethan Lawson, Ada Russell, and Brinli Bryan — a testament to the program’s continued growth.
Additional top individual performances included Evelyn Buess (2nd, 100 free), Isabella Martin (4th, 200 free), and strong finishes across multiple events from Ona Forman, Ada Russell, William Martin, and others who contributed critical team points.
The relay teams also delivered standout performances. The Mixed 200 Yard Free Relay A Team (Hannah Jenks, Ben Castle, Lydia Martinez, and Christopher Allgaier) finished second, while the Mixed 200 Medley Relay A Team (Audrey Stephenson, Christopher Allgaier, Lydia Martinez, and Hannah Jenks) placed third.
With personal records set across the board, new swimmers stepping up, and a first-place finish for the girls, the meet marked a strong start to the next phase of the season for Grace Junior High Swim.
