Cougar Track Sweeps District Titles, Advances 41 Entries to Regionals

April 20, 2026 – The Lady Cougars and Cougars competed Wednesday at the TAPPS 5A District 2 track meet hosted at Grace, and both teams captured district championships. The titles marked the program’s eighth district championship in the past nine years.
Grace qualified 41 total entries and all six relay teams for the TAPPS regional meet, scheduled for April 29 at the University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington.
For the Lady Cougars, district champions and gold medalists included Emma Goetz in the 3,200-meter and 1,600-meter runs, Sadie Arriola in the shot put, Brooklyn Gautier in the pole vault, Paige Gilmore in the high jump, Casey Goetz in the 800-meter run and Addison Eli in the 400-meter run.
Silver medalists and regional qualifiers for Grace included Elizabeth Rath in the pole vault, Arriola in the discus, Addie Matthews in the 100-meter hurdles, the 4×100-meter relay team of Zadie Fenton, Pryce Bowler, Gilmore and Eli, and the 4×400-meter relay team of Matthews, Emma Goetz, Cecilia Sabillon and Eli.
Bronze medalists and regional qualifiers included Micah Muns in the shot put, Samantha Stewart in the triple jump, Fenton in the 100-meter hurdles and Casey Goetz in the 1,600-meter run.
Additional regional qualifiers for the Lady Cougars included Malayna Cauley in the shot put, Trinity Schulz in the pole vault, Matthews in the long jump and 300-meter hurdles, Rylee Phillips in the triple jump, M.J. Hanson in the 3,200-meter and 800-meter runs, and the 4×200-meter relay team of Stewart, Sabillon, Phillips and Bowler.
Other athletes scoring points for Grace included Aragon Tanner in the 3,200-meter and 800-meter runs, Gilmore in the discus, Zoe Coates in the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles, Gautier in the 100-meter dash, Rebecca Dai in the 400-meter dash, Stewart in the 200-meter dash and Hanson in the 1,600-meter run.
On the boys side, district champions and gold medalists included Christian Henry in both the shot put and discus, Clayton Bock in the 800-meter and 1,600-meter runs, Ayle Hecht in the pole vault, and B.J. Olusola in the 110-meter hurdles. The Cougars also won gold in the 4×100-meter relay and 4×200-meter relay with Christian Henry, Cole Stanley, Justus McQuay and Elijah Hicks.
Silver medalists and regional qualifiers included Wyatt Grimes in the 3,200-meter run, Luke Anderson in the shot put, Olusola in the 300-meter hurdles, and the 4×400-meter relay team of Coleman Swaim, Bock, Roe Gaddis and Olusola.
Bronze medalists and regional qualifiers included Gaddis in the triple jump, Bradon Alexander in the shot put, Parker Patterson in the 110-meter hurdles, McQuay in the 200-meter dash and Ayden Serrato in the 1,600-meter run.
Additional regional qualifiers included Serrato and Brayden Bryan in the discus, Olusola in the high jump and Patterson in the 300-meter hurdles.
Other Cougars scoring points included Dillon Small in the 3,200-meter run and 300-meter hurdles, Gabriel Adams in the long jump and triple jump, Henry Persing and Dax Dixon in the pole vault, Asher Wickliffe in the 800-meter and 1,600-meter runs, Carter Zimmerman in the 100-meter dash, William Butts in the 400-meter dash and Henry in the 200-meter dash.
Grace will send its regional qualifiers to Arlington on April 29 as the Cougars continue their pursuit of postseason success.
