JH Cross Country Sweeps Team Titles at Patriot Invitational

September 14, 2026 – Grace Junior High cross country had a strong day at the Christian Heritage Patriot Invitational, with both the boys and girls teams bringing home team titles.

The girls team competed without a few of its members, but those who raced turned in standout performances. Reagan Cannon led the way in a strong season opener, winning the 2-mile race in 14:32. Ellie Gillen followed in second with a personal-record time of 15:01, improving her previous best by more than a minute. Anna Martinez also set a personal record, finishing in 16:09, also more than a minute faster than her prior best. Audrey Stephenson battled asthma throughout the race but still finished within one second of her season best at 16:52, and Ava Weimer capped off the day with a 1-minute, 30-second improvement, setting a lifetime personal record of 17:15.

On the boys side, the team ran a shortened course, giving the Cougars a chance to push their pace significantly. Grace dominated the race, taking first through sixth, plus eighth, ninth, 11th, 12th and 14th overall. Finishing in order for the Cougars were Ben Castle, Wesley Weiner, Jace France, Cayleb Keel, David Roseman, Jackson Dison, Levi Wylie, Levi Leandro, Jackson Bonneville, Elijah Helmeczi and Grant Weiner.
