Lady Cougars sweep Brook Hill and Bishop Dunne to improve to 5-1 in district play

October 5, 2026 – Grace Community School’s varsity volleyball team swept two key district opponents on the road last week, beating Brook Hill on Tuesday and Bishop Dunne on Thursday, both in three sets, to improve to 5-1 in district play.

The Lady Cougars won at Brook Hill in a loud, intense environment where communication was a challenge. Rath led the offense with 18 kills, an assist and an ace, and posted a 2.4 serve-receive average. She also made several key digs that kept the Lady Cougars in rallies. Loftis ran the offense with 32 assists, three kills, three aces, two blocks and several digs. Green added two aces and a 2.7 serve-receive average.

Two days later, Grace swept Bishop Dunne. Bryan and Rath led the team in kills, while Burkett and Bryan each served three aces. At the net, Kennedy had two blocks, and Whitson and Bryan each added one.

The Lady Cougars return home this week, hosting Brighter Horizons on Tuesday, Oct. 6, for Senior Night at 7:30 p.m., then Cristo Rey on Thursday, Oct. 8, for Pink Out at 6:30 p.m.
