Lady Cougars’ Season Ends in Four-Set Playoff Battle with Fort Worth Christian

November 2, 2026 – Grace Community School’s varsity volleyball team ended its season last Tuesday, with a four-set playoff loss to Fort Worth Christian, falling 29-27 in the final set.

The Lady Cougars gave everything they had in a match that came down to the wire. They battled through four competitive sets, and it took extra points in the fourth to decide it.

Burkett had a standout night, passing a 2.1 in serve receive against strong servers, serving five aces and making several huge digs that kept Grace in the match and gave the Lady Cougars chances to keep fighting. Rath, Bryan and Whitson each had double-digit kills, and Loftis ran the offense with 40 assists and four kills.

“The final score doesn’t define what this team accomplished or how much they grew along the way,” said Ashley Zavala, head coach. “Watching these girls grow, improve, overcome challenges, and fight for one another throughout the season has been so rewarding.”

The Lady Cougars finished the season 8-2 in district play, second in the district standings, with plenty to be proud of.
