All Good Things Come to an End
All good things must come to an end, and for the Grace Football Team that proved true last Friday night in Prosper. They ran into a veritable buzzsaw in Liberty Christian from Argyle. The Cougars played hard and gave everything they could, but it wasn’t enough to hang with the Warriors. The final score was 52-7.
It was hard-rock mining for the offense against one of the best defenses in the state. Grant Turner was the leading player on offense, accounting for almost half of the yards on offense. Doak Porter was the leading receiver, with 2 catches for 40 yards. McCade Stinson scored the lone touchdown for the Cougars. The defense was led by Blake Harmon and Dylan Taylor making several great tackles, and Lawson Livingston also had some critical pass deflections inthe secondary.
Grace enjoyed an incredible season, going 9-2 and finishing second in the District. They also enjoyed a thrilling home playoff win against Midland Christian, garnering their first win against the Mustangs. The Cougars also placed several players on the All-District list.
