Varsity Golf

As with many sports, the game of Golf teaches many great life lessons. As stated by Bobby Jones, “Golf is the closest game to the game we call life. You get bad breaks from good shots; you get good breaks from bad shots—but you have to play the ball where it lies.” As our lives in Christ unfold, we encounter highs and lows, many times due to nothing we have done directly. Just as we focus on our “response” in golf (the next shot), in life we want to place our trust in God as we move forward. We want to be more concerned with our next steps in the Lord (our response to life’s ups and downs in our walk of faith), rather than being afraid or dismayed at what has happened to us.
