Cougar Baseball Goes 2-1, Improves to 3-1 in District Play

March 23, 2026 – The Grace varsity baseball team turned in a strong week of play last week, finishing 2-1 and improving to 3-1 in district.

The Cougars opened the week with an 11-7 victory over Slocum on Monday, using timely hitting and solid offensive production to secure the win.

Grace then traveled to Austin Regents on Friday for a district series, where the Cougars split with the Knights. In Game 1, Grace earned a 7-2 victory behind a dominant start from Slade Etheredge, who set the tone on the mound and helped the Cougars control the game from start to finish.

The Knights responded in Game 2, handing Grace its only loss of the week.

With the series split, the Cougars now sit at 3-1 in district play and remain in strong position as the season progresses.

Grace will look to build on its momentum this Friday with a key district doubleheader against Austin Hyde Park at home. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m., with Game 2 to follow at 4 p.m.
