Cougar Men’s Basketball Closes Strong Season After Playoff Battle in Lubbock

February 23, 2026 – The Grace varsity boys basketball team wrapped up its season Tuesday night with an 82-59 road loss to Trinity Christian in Lubbock in the second round of the TAPPS playoffs.

The Cougars fought hard against a talented 27-8 Chargers squad, but were unable to overcome the home-court advantage. Despite the loss, Grace finished the season with a 26-10 overall record and a 6-2 mark in TAPPS 5A District 2 play, securing second place in the district.

Grace excelled in all areas throughout the season, outscoring opponents 2,343 to 1,956 and showing consistency both at home and on the road. The team went 9-2 at home, 6-2 in away games, and 11-6 in neutral contests, highlighting the depth, teamwork, and resilience displayed by the squad all year.

This season also marked the first year under head coach Dave Nedbalek, who guided the team to continued success while maintaining focus on player development and team chemistry.

With a strong 26-win campaign and a solid foundation for next year, Cougar Men’s Basketball looks forward to building on this success and competing at a high level in the coming seasons.
