Cougar Men’s Basketball Poised for Postseason Push After Dominant Win, Tough Loss

February 2, 2026 – The Grace Community varsity boys basketball team split district play last week, delivering a dominant win over Bishop Dunne before falling to Regents.

On Thursday, the Cougars overwhelmed Bishop Dunne 92–55, controlling the game from start to finish. Grace’s ability to separate from opponents was on full display, as the Cougars cruised to yet another lopsided victory. The win marked the 13th time this season Grace has defeated an opponent by 20 points or more, underscoring the team’s offensive firepower and depth.

Thursday’s victory also pushed Grace’s overall record to 23–7, reflecting the consistency the Cougars have shown throughout the season.

Grace was unable to carry that momentum into Friday’s matchup against Regents, dropping a 65–47 decision. Despite the loss, the Cougars remain firmly in contention as district play winds down.

Now, all eyes turn to Tuesday night. Grace will host Bishop Dunne in a rematch at 7 p.m., with a district tournament berth in Waco on the line. A win would secure Grace’s spot in the postseason.

Tuesday will be a big night for Cougar Nation, with both the boys and girls teams in action. Fans are encouraged to pack the gym and help create a true home-court advantage as the Cougars make their final push toward the playoffs.
