October 19, 2026 – Grace Community School’s varsity swim team finished fourth overall at the 10th Annual Grace Swim Invitational, hosted by the Cougars over the weekend.
The meet brought together 13 teams and more than 100 swimmers, with competitors traveling from as far away as the Metroplex and Lubbock. The Grace women placed third, and the men placed fourth.
Seniors Micah Barry, Daniel Minick and Mateo Agudelo led the Cougars in both individual events and relays. Minick is a team captain, and Agudelo serves as team chaplain.
“Their determination, competitive spirit, and commitment to their teammates were on full display every time they stepped onto the blocks,” said Brynn Steele, head coach.
Steele said the seniors are making the most of their final high school season by setting an example for younger swimmers and leaving their mark on the program. “Their leadership reminds us that success isn’t measured only by the scoreboard, but also by the heart, grit, and teamwork it takes to compete,” she said.
