Cougar Tennis Claims Titles, Medals in Final District Tune-Up

March 30, 2026 – The Grace Cougar tennis team traveled to Van on Friday to compete in the Jerry Slayton Memorial Tennis Tournament, serving as the team’s final tune-up before district play in Austin on beginning today.

Grace entered several competitors across multiple divisions. Boys A doubles teams included Easton Griffin and Aiden Morales, Cade McElmurry and Blake Singer, and Ethan Foreman and Henry Diana in the B boys division. Boys singles players were Fredrick Werner and Leo Rosso. The girls doubles team of Evangeline Bock and Tessa Stockhammer competed, along with Mia Lindley in girls A singles.

The Cougars delivered an impressive performance in boys singles, as Werner captured first place and teammate Rosso earned second, giving Grace the top two finishes in the division.

Foreman and Diana earned their first medal of the season by placing second in their division, while Lindley took third in girls singles after finishing 3-1 on the day.

Coaches Singer and Wells said they are pleased with the team’s improvement and feel the Cougars are reaching peak form heading into district competition.
