Cougars Defeat BHA in Penalty Kicks

District away games continued at Brighter Horizon this past Tuesday 1/17 for the Cougars. They came out with a 2-1 penalty kick victory. The final regulation score ended in a 2-2 tie.
Senior forward Tre Bowie scored the first goal before the half to make 1-1. Sophomore midfielder Carter Eitel assisted him. Senior captain midfielder Caleb Carmack made it 2-1 with a shot from 30 yards out! Freshman midfielder Logan Trump picked up the assist. But the game ended in a tie. Senior captain goalkeeper Austin Hudgins recorded 16 saves. On penalty kicks, Austin Hudgins scored the first pk. He ended up saving 3 penalty kicks! Tre Bowie scored the winning penalty for the win.
The Cougar’s first home district game was a tough loss versus Legacy Christian. It went to penalty kicks and the final result was 2-4 after ending in a scoreless draw. Senior captain Austin Hudgins recorded 17 saves! The only two penalty kick takers who scored were junior captain forward Carter Eli and junior midfielder Daniel Kucheruk. Notable performances went to sophomore midfielder Carter Eitel, sophomore forward Gabriel King, and senior captain midfielder Caleb Carmack. 
This week, the boys soccer program will host a pair of home games against Coram Deo on Tuesday 1/24 and Cristo Rey on Friday 1/27. Both games start at 7pm. The Cougars current overall record is at 14-4-1 and in district is at (2-2).
