Cougars Finish 2nd in Shelton Invitational

The varsity Cougars finished in second place in the Shelton Winter Classic in Dallas this weekend. The boys had big wins over Westlake Academy, Denton Calvary,and Lakehill Prep to advance to the finals against Shelton.  Several players played key roles in the wins, Cade Covington, Kole Crawford, Peyton Kelly, and Wilson Smith were all in double figures against Westlake Academy.  Andrew Dancy, Drew Gaddis, Darius Shankle,and Wilson Smith led the scoring against Calvary. In the semi-final against Lakehill Prep, Jared Hosch had a varsity career high, Kole Crawford had double figures, and Grayson Gaddis also had a great offensive game. Reed Alexander, Will Bozeman, Drew Gaddis, and Daniel Shankle did an excellent job of containing a dynamic offensive player for Lakehill. The Cougars averaged 87 points per game in the first three games but struggled to maintain that pace in the finals, losing to a hot shooting Shelton 53-56. Darius Shankle, Kole Crawford, Cade Covington led the Cougars in scoring during the championship game.  

On Tuesday, all our high school teams traveled to Lindale and played very competitively against the Eagles. Our JV White, JV Blue, and Varsity teams will host the Tyler HEAT on Tuesday. Games will begin at 5:00. We hope all the Cougars fans will be in the stands to cheer on the mighty Cougars!
