Cougars Jr. High Baseball Teams Split with Tyler Heat

February 28, 2026 – The Cougars’ junior high baseball teams showed strong pitching and timely hitting as they split a pair of hard-fought games against the Tyler Heat.
7th Grade: Raylan Flanery got the start, going 1⅔ innings with four strikeouts while allowing one run. He also drove in the Cougars’ lone run with a first-inning single. Anthony Lisensby relieved Flanery, tossing 1⅓ innings of scoreless baseball as multiple Cougars reached base in the 1-1 tie.
8th Grade: Miller Cooper started on the mound, striking out six over two innings, while Johnowen Guyer finished the last three innings allowing just one hit and recording two strikeouts. Strong defense and a clutch RBI from Case Lybrand helped the Cougars secure a 2-0 win in a pitchers’ duel.
The junior high teams will be back in action Tuesday, March 3, at Brook Hill, with the 7th grade playing at 4:30 p.m. and the 8th grade at 6 p.m.
