Cougars Lose a Tight Game to BHA

The Cougars started the second half of the district season with two disappointing losses. On Tuesday, the Cougars lost a highly competitive game to Brighter Horizons 46-51. The team showed flashes of brilliance early to take a double digit lead but costly turnovers and defensive lapses hurt the Cougars in the second half. Darius Shankle had 17 points and Kole Crawford contributed 12 points to lead the Cougars in scoring. On Friday, the Cougars dug an early hole early that proved to be too much to overcome in losing to the district leading and state ranked Eagles from Frisco Legacy by the score of 62-86. Standout performers for the Cougars during the game were Drew Gaddis, Grayson Gaddis, Peyton Kelly, Brinton Loftis, and Wilson Smith.
The JV White and JV Blue teams also made the trip to Frisco. The JV White lost a highly entertaining game and the JV Blue played some of their best basketball of the season to defeat Legacy. All of our teams will be in action on Tuesday as we host Bishop Dunne in a key district game. JV White will play at 4:30 in the Jr. High Gym and JV Blue will both tip-off at 4:30 in the HS Gym. The varsity, which is now 21-11 on the season and 4-4 in district, is scheduled to play at 7:30. We hope to see all our Cougar fans in the gym as the team continues its quest for the playoffs.
