Cougars Play in Frankston Tournament
The Cougars played five games at the Frankston Tournament this past weekend. The Lady Cougars started off the tournament with a big win against Chapel Hill. Hannah Stout led the Cougars with 14 points. Defense and rebounding were the key to the 23-27 victory. Kat Neal and Olivia Clark both hauled in 7 rebounds while Macie Mathis had 5 steals. That would be the only win on the weekend for the team but they competed well in other games. Harper Auringer had 11 points and 12 rebounds in a loss to Frankston. The Cougars mounted a furious comeback in their final game against Elkhart. Trailing by 17 going into the final quarter the team battled back to within one, and a final shot to tie missed the mark. Several freshmen stepped in to fill in for missing players including Macy Loftis who finished with 10 points with several baskets in the final frame.
This week the Cougars take on White Oak on Tuesday before their first district game Friday night.
