Cougars Start District Season 2-0

The Cougars started their district season this past week with two home games. They first played Cristo Rey and won 2-0. Then they played Bishop Dunne on Thursday and won 2-0 again.

In the Cristo Rey game, the first goal was scored by senior captain Daniel Kucheruk as he powered a free kick into the opposing goal. The second goal was scored by senior captain Carter Eli and he was assisted by senior captain Cole Edens. Notable performances went to junior defender Josue Ramirez, freshman defender Andrew Gardner, and junior defender Andres Casillas. Keeping a clean sheet on the game with 8 saves was junior captain gk Jake Jones. 
In the Bishop Dunne game, the first goal was scored by junior defender Andres Casillas and he was assisted by sophomore midfielder Logan Trump. The second goal was scored by senior forward Conner Emery and he was assisted by senior captain forward Carter Eli. Notable performances went to senior defender Jacob Carpenter, junior midfielder Matthew Hunsinger, and freshman defender Logan Levels. Junior captain gk Jake Jones recorded his second shutout and recorded 10 saves.

This week, the Brighter Horizon on Monday 1/15 game has been POSTPONED to a later date due to the cold weather.

They travel to Frisco Legacy on Thursday 1/18 to face the 2023 defending State Champions Frisco Legacy. Both games are set to kick off at 7 pm.
