Cougars Win TAPSAC Championship
The 7th grade Cougars capped off a fantastic season winning the TAPSAC District Tournament the past Saturday. Grace defeated All Saints in the Championship game to finish the season 15-2. After a slow start the Cougars went on a 20-2 run to take a 22-9 lead at the half. The final score was 45-26. Coleman Swaim lead the team with 14 points and stellar defensive play. Bradon Alexander finished the year as the teams leading scorer adding 13 to his point total Saturday. Braydon Knox played a great game scoring 8 points and controlling the boards for the Cougars. This is a special group of young men who had their eye on the prize from day 1 of practice and defined what a TEAM is.The 8th grade boys defeated Bishop Gorman in the semi-final Game 44-38. The Cougars played a very good game against a determined Crusader team. Jay Pillsbury lead the team with 11 points. Six Cougars scored in the game. The Cougars fell to All Saints in the Championship game 29-44. Grace took a lead in the 3rd quarter but despite playing well fell to a very good All Saints team. Jay Pillsbury and Ben Gregory lead the teams with 8 points each. The 8th grade finished the season 6-9. We are looking forward to seeing these Cougars playing at the high school level next year! |
