Cross Country Excels at Lindale Invitational
This past Thursday, October 6 the Grace Cross Country team traveled to Lindale for the Eagle
Invitational. Grace was the only private school in the field of 27 predominantly UIL CLASS 4A teams.
Running on the most difficult courses the team has raced this year and in a large fast field Grace
performed with courage and a very determined spirit.
The Girls team finished in third place. The girls placed their top six runners in the top third of the field.
Abby Metzger, Kayla Minick, Maggie Jenz, Lauryn Dunn, Whitney Callen, Ela Keeling, and Emerson Evans
combined for the best team average time of the season.
The Boys team also produced the fastest team
total time and team average time of the year. They finished in eighth place out of the 27 teams. The
team was made up of runners Grayson Gaddis, Drew Gaddis, Roe Gaddis, Grant Gilmore, Austin Callen,
Zach Callen, Elias, Nix, DJ Raborar, and Manny Mercado-Cotto.
The next competition for Grace Cross Country is on Thursday, October 20 at the TAPPS 5A – District 2
Championships.
