Cross Country Excels at Waxahachie Meet
This past Thursday, September 22, the Grace Cross Country team traveled to Waxahachie for the Mustang Stampede, a new meet for them. Cougar runners were anxious to compete against new teams and this meet provided just the fresh experience we were looking for. They competed against teams we rarely come up against in East Texas.
As always, Grace displayed their ‘grace’ and competitive spirit!
The Girls team won their division placing all six runners in the top 25 in a field of 127 finishers. The Boys team finished third among the eighteen teams scoring in the meet. Grace also had the individual girl and boy champion in each race. Abby Metzger won the girls race and Grayson Gaddis won the boys race. They were followed closely by Kayla Minick in 4th for the girls and Drew Gaddis in 3rd for the boys.
This week the team travels to Woodlands Christian Academy to again compete against teams we don’t see very often.
