Grace Cougar Cross Country
On Saturday, August 27th, the Grace Cougar Cross Country team began its 2022 competitive season at the Kaufman “Run with the Lions” Invitational. The Lady Cougars got the season started though they could only field a team of four runners (one short for scoring purposes) because of injury and illness. Abby Metzger leads the group finishing second individually and leading all four runners to places in the top 35 in a field of 132 runners. With Maddie Keeling (23), Lauryn Dunn (25) and Ela Keeling (35) they are well positioned for another successful season. The boys team finished in 8th place in a very competitive field of 23 schools. They were led by Grayson Gaddis in 7th place individually and Drew Gaddis in 13th place. Grant Gilmore, Roe Gaddis, Austin Callen, Elias Nix, and DJ Raborar filled out the team. Both teams will be at the starting line again at the Hallsville Invitational on September 10th.
