Bobi Jo Friesen joined Grace Community School in 2025 as the fifth- and sixth-grade choir director and Grace University music specialist. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in music education from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. Bobi Jo brings more than 25 years of experience teaching voice, piano, general music, choreography, and directing choirs and show choirs. Her students have performed in New York City, at the United Nations, and at Seton Hall University. She has personally performed in 27 U.S. states as well as in Belgium and Italy. Bobi Jo and her husband, Don, have two married sons: Nick, who is married to Katie, and Nate, who is married to Marissa. Nick and Katie have four children: Paisley (5), Hazel (4), Olive (2), and Wesley (1). Bobi Jo also has a two-year-old English Cream Golden Retriever named Lilly. She enjoys golfing, playing piano, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Stars. She attends Green Acres Baptist Church, where she is active in her connection group and Bible study. Her favorite verse is Ecclesiastes 9:10: “Whatever you do, do well.”
