GCS Junior High Cross Country Wins State Titles at Season Finale

October 13, 2025 – The Grace Community School Junior High Cross Country teams concluded their season this past weekend with an outstanding performance at the Texas Private Middle School State Championships. Demonstrating grit, focus, and competitive spirit, both the boys’ and girls’ teams claimed overall team titles, marking a successful end to their 2025 campaign.

The girls’ team secured a narrow five-point victory over McKinney Christian Academy. The scoring effort was led by Lydia Martinez, who placed second overall, followed by Hannah Jenks in third. Additional top-15 finishes came from Elizabeth Russell (ninth), Josie Jenz (tenth), and Riley Morgan (thirteenth), solidifying the Lady Cougars’ team win.

On the boys’ side, the Cougars faced stiff competition, with over 130 runners in their race. Despite the challenge, the team earned a hard-fought three-point victory over Carrollton Prince of Peace. The scoring runners for Grace were Isaac Jenks (third), Joshua Wright (thirteenth), Ben Castle (sixteenth), Chris Allgaier (thirty-second), and Cayleb Keel (thirty-sixth). A key strategic finish came from Jace France, who placed forty-second and successfully pushed the final Prince of Peace scorer down a spot—securing the Cougars’ team win.

Throughout the season, these young athletes have demonstrated exceptional commitment to growth and team culture. From early morning practices to race-day leadership, they have cultivated a spirit of encouragement, excellence, and daily improvement.

The future of Grace Cross Country is bright, with a new generation of runners already making their mark.
