Grace Aquatics Shines at St. Nicholas Sprint Swim

December 8, 2025 – Parents, grandparents, and supporters of Grace Aquatics were treated to an exciting day of fast swimming on Friday, December 6th, as both our Middle School and High School teams competed at the highly anticipated St. Nicholas Sprint Swim hosted at SMU in Dallas. With 463 swimmers representing 40 private and parochial schools from across the Metroplex and East Texas, the competition was intense from the first splash.

Despite being without a few key swimmers, the Grace teams rose to the challenge and delivered outstanding results.

High School Girls Take 1st Place

The High School girls team showcased depth, speed, and determination, capturing the 1st place team trophy. They edged out Southwest Christian by 8 points and finished 26 points ahead of Greenhill—a true testament to teamwork and the dedication they’ve shown all season. Mollie Mathis led the team with 31 individual points, highlighted by an incredible performance in the NCAA-style 50-yard freestyle shootout.

In this thrilling elimination sprint, Mollie advanced through all four rounds to the final head-to-head matchup. Though narrowly touched out in the championship sprint, her performance electrified the stands and demonstrated Cougar spirit at its finest.

High School Boys Impress Despite Small Team

The High School boys team competed with only six swimmers, proving that quality can overcome quantity. Powered by grit and determination, the boys secured an impressive 4th-place finish, just 21 points behind Ft. Worth Nolan Catholic and 1 point ahead of Greenhill. Freshman Isaac Stephenson led the way with 25 points in his individual swims, showcasing both talent and composure under pressure.
