Grace Community High School Choir wins TAPPS Vocal Championship
Grace Community High School Choir wins their 10th consecutive TAPPS Vocal Championship, finishing the contest with over 1000 points and 300 points ahead of the runner-up winner. The choir scored more points than the 6A Champions. With only 2 weeks between the solo & ensemble and concert/sight-reading contests, the choir students worked very hard to prepare 11 songs for the TAPPS Vocal Championship.
The judges’ comments included statements such as:
- “Very exciting performance!”
- “Y’all are doing awesome music and sounding great doing it!”
- “You sing softly so beautifully and that is very unique for a high school tenor/bass choir!” (to the tenor/bass choir)
- “Blew me away!”
- “Great attention to detail and musicianship”
- “I cannot think of words to express how beautiful this was. I wanted y’all to just keep singing!”
- “Professional and refined”
The High School Choir Spring Concert is on May 2. They will be singing their championship-winning concert.
