Grace Community School Unveils Logos and Website
Grace Community School is launching a new website on August 1, 2022. As Grace is approaching their 50th anniversary and prior to redesigning their website, the school updated its academic and athletic logos. Typically referred to as “GRACE” throughout the community, the school wanted to make the words stand out and included an embedded cross to represent the distinctly Christian focus of the school.
“Grace is, and always will be, a school that ‘teaches Jesus,’ distinctively Christian in focus and approach. We wanted those ideas to be captured not only in our name, but in those marks that represent us to the community at large,” said Jay Ferguson, Ph.D., Head of School at Grace Community School. “We are excited and grateful to be providing the best in Christian education to the Smith County area, and we believe this new look reflects that commitment.”
While the changes to the athletic logo were more subtle, a new font was introduced, and graphics provided a refreshed and modern appearance. The goal was to provide the design elements with a bit of a facelift, while still maintaining the tradition and recognizability of the Grace Cougar itself.
“Our athletic logo has been a strong, recognizable brand in the Tyler area for many years,” said Joseph Walker, Ed.D., Director of Athletics at Grace Community School. “We wanted a refreshed look that honored that tradition with an updated style. I’m excited that we were able to hit that mark. Grace Athletics has always been about playing, ‘For the Audience of One,’ and we wanted a look that honored that heritage for a new generation of Cougars.”
In addition to the newly designed graphic items, Grace Community School has also expanded its tagline to say, “Teaching Jesus. Living Grace.” The hope is these new changes will better represent the success, achievements, and foundational Christ-centered focus of Grace Community School.
Grace Community School is the only East Texas school recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education for high academic achievement at the elementary and high school. The only 5A private school in East Texas, Grace is back-to-back 2022 and 2021 TAPPS Henderson Cup Champion for top state honors in academics, athletics, and fine arts.
