Grace Cross Country Travels South

Grace Cross Country traveled south to Lufkin Hudson this past Saturday to compete against some new and tough individual competition and some perennially strong 4A cross-country programs

The Grace Girls team had their best race ofthe year. They arrived with some goals and were ready to compete hard to accomplish them. This was a breakthrough performance for the team. The girls were again led by Emma  Goetz as she won her sixth consecutive race and established the fourth-course record that we know of this year. Thereal story though is the performance of therest of the team, this is where team championships are won or lost. Kayla Minick, Maddie Keeling, Lauryn Dunn, Maggie Jenz, and Whitney Callens all had their best race of the year. With a fairly small margin ofvictory, the total effort of all the girls was required. This resulted in another team victory.

The Boy’s team was led by Roe Gaddis’s seventh-place finish in a Personal Best performance. The rest of the team of Clayton Boch, DJ Raborar, Ayden Serrato, Cole Edens, and Dylan Small also produced multiple Season Best efforts. We have a short turnaround this week as we head to theLindale Invitational this Thursday.
