Grace Football Battles Dallas First Baptist in Season Opener

August 31, 2026 – Grace Community School’s varsity football team opened its regular season against Dallas First Baptist, falling 41-26 despite battling back from an early deficit.

Christian Henry had a big night on both sides of the ball, hauling in four receptions for 90 yards and adding 51 rushing yards on offense, while intercepting two passes and returning one for a touchdown on defense. Slade Etheredge added 218 passing yards and a touchdown through the air.

On defense, Andrew Gardner led the way with 17 tackles and a fumble recovery he returned for a touchdown, while Aaron Vidrine added 10 tackles and a forced fumble.

The Cougars will look to bounce back Thursday when they host Timpson for their first home game of the season.
