Grace Football Battles in Final Scrimmage Ahead of Season Opener

August 24, 2026 – Grace Community School’s football team took the field against Daingerfield last week for its final scrimmage of the preseason, playing two live, game-like quarters and falling 21-7. Despite the final score, the Cougars showed several bright spots to build on heading into the regular season.
The offensive line gave the quarterback solid protection throughout the scrimmage, with Luke Anderson making his first appearance of the season on the line and standing out for his communication and physicality. The Cougars found the end zone when Slade Etheredge connected with Christian Henry on a big explosive play through the air for a touchdown.
On defense, Bradon Alexander and Christian Henry shared the lead in tackles with four apiece, while Carson Talley came away with an interception.
The Cougars now turn their attention to the regular season opener Friday at First Baptist Academy in Dallas.
